The Psychedelic Furs’ secret to staying relevant

How many musical artists, specifically from the 1980’s, can say they’re still consistently performing live today? If you’re the frontman of The Psychedelic Furs, Richard Butler, you can. 

I recall the first time seeing The Furs in concert and was awestruck when a statuesque, bright red-headed Butler appeared on the stage. What an unforgettable entrance! The entire band was on point with every tune and they didn’t forget to include each of their mega hits, made famous by airing on MTV.

It wasn’t until more than four decades later that I had the honor of covering the band as a photojournalist. It was a dream come true.
