I have numerous fond memories of attending various concerts during my life and one stands out in my mind today. It was the first time I saw Barry Manilow perform. Even though he pulled out all the stops during the show and is one of the most outstanding showmen I’ve ever seen (from the dazzling costumes to his impressive vocal talent), it was the little lady sitting next to me that stole my heart…my mom.
She waited for the man of the hour with the enthusiasm of a young schoolgirl on her first day of school. And, we both just couldn’t help ourselves to sing along together to the lyrics of “Mandy” and “I Write The Songs”. I’ll always remember how truly special that evening was. Incidentally, I get my passion for music from my dear mother and I am completely grateful for that!
Disclaimer: I have utilized stock photography for this blog since I didn’t photograph this band/artist.
Love your soul and passion in each word as you write about the Barry Manilow concert and your mom and her musical influence on you.
